I have an acer aspire v17 black edition with 2 usb 3.0 ports and 1 usb 2.0 port. I have upgraded from 8-16gb ram and replaced the hdd with ssd.
As the title says; only one of the usb ports refuses to recognize usb 3.0 devices. The other 2 ports see them fine and usb 2.0 devices are still recognized by this port.
update: I was chatting with acer support, we updated the chipset driver and disabled the signature requirement thingy. I was testing connection with my devices on my ports and I noticed a change.
Now the usb port works as it should; im able to open files in explorer and am able to communicate with the devices using 3rd party programs. There is still a minor issue though.
Whenever a usb 3.0 device is plugged into the port in question it doesnt make the "jingle" sound when plugged in and it doesnt show the icon at the bottom to safely disconnect. I am completely confused because if I plug a usb 2.0 device into the same usb 3.0 port it makes the "jingle" and shows up...
