I want to know if there's anything i should worry about such as power consumption or cooling for this system because I don't want to be blowing smoke out of it.

CPU: Core i5-3570k Ivy Bridge - 4 cores - 6mb cache 3.4gb -LGA1155
mobo: ASRock - Z77 Extreme4 ATX socket 1155
video: Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 -PCI-Express 16x - 2gb

I dont know much about that, but from what I do know, power supply seems fine to me! as for cooling, you won't need any unless you're going to overclock your cpu. Actually even the default coolers can take some overclocking, but if you're going overboard with it, then yeah get another one. This is all I know about this.

We cant really assess cooling without knowing what case you have. Fans are always a good idea.

The PSU should be fine. Even though its not one of my favorite models, your system draws likely no more than 400w on average - you have a lot of headroom.

I haven't placed the order yet, I wanted to get some feedback first. I see you have a seasonic 520W - would you recommend that one ? However if you say I could be using more than 400W, it may be too close.

Exactly what power suppy do you have? A google search of Advance -EP - 700W returns nothing so I don't know how people are telling you it will be fine. Sounds like no name junk to me.

Thanks for the input. Indeed the power supply I was looking at was a no brand junk as it turns out so I'm gonna pick a more recommended brand just to be sure.

Avoid it like the plague. It's a cheap Chinese firecracker.

The power supply is the single most important part of your system. Never go cheap with one. There are plenty of quality models that are excellent values.

Spend the money on a good power supply, I've had the OCZ ModXStream 700W for a couple of years without incident. However the units listed by anort3 are just as good if not better.

Better to pay for a decent PS now rather than shell out money in the future for parts replacement - think of it as insurance.

Edit: As for cooling and if the case supports it, get some additional 120mm fans to keep the air circulating. If you are overclocking the crap out of the system get yourself a better cooling solution i.e. water cooled solution.

My bad - I thought he already had the PSU ... I try not to tell people to throw away things they already have unless I know something in it is actually bad. (I googled his PSU earlier and came up with a review that showed it had 85% efficiency, Japanese brand capacitors, and looked halfway decent -- it must not have been the right model?)

I agree with brand suggestions above. Seasonic is by far the best IMO. Corsair, Antec, PC Power and some OCZ and XFX are good too.

Regarding the Seasonic 520 watt, if its an S12 II or an M12II they only have ONE 6+2 pin PCI-E power connector, and ONE static(not 6+2) 8 pin PCI-E connector. I had the M12 II and it couldn't run my 670 because the 8 pin wouldn't fit in the card.

Do you think it's strong enough if I want to OC the system ? i found a WATT calculator http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/Power and clocking to 4.5 should consume 100W the CPU alone. I even added some extra PCI boards and some water pumps that i don't even have and got the wattage up to 660W, but if the calculator works I should never ever use all that stuff. So in theory 650W is enough but still i'd like to hear some opinions.

Don't pay attention to the psu calculators. The tx650 is a good unit.

Running an i5-750 OC'd @3.6, GTX 670 FTW, 1 optical, 1 ssd, 1 hdd and some fans. Running stable and smooth as silk.

You should be fine.

As I said above a system with a single GTX 670 needs a quality 500w or better power supply. That includes any overclocking you are going to do.

Both these tests use factory overclocked GTX 670s as baselines.

You would be surprised at how many people have no clue as to how much ( or little ) power is actually needed for their computer. People recommending 1000 watts for a GTX 550 Ti is not as uncommon as you would think. Also online power calculators tend to overestimate quite a bit. They also factor in 30% capacitor aging and that is just plain crazy. With modern, high quality, solid caps aging is more like 1 or 2% not anywhere near 30%.

These are all excellent choices at various price points. The Seasonic and PC Power and Cooling are both modular.
