hi

i/ve made a new heatsinsk which i constructed and made at home on my CNC... tell me what you think of it... tnx very much!
two pics of a prototype can be seen at the address below:

Impressive. I especially like the way that you've increased the contact area between the water and the metal. The only problem that I can forsee is the fact that all 3 trenches are not of equal length. This means that the water will be travelling at different speeds, depending on which channel it takes. This probably won't matter so long as you have a decent pump.

I read a review somewhere (sorry, forgot the exact source) where someone dimpled the inside of his water block. Adding dimples to the water block actually made the water flow faster, much like the dimples on a golf ball make it fly farther and faster. It also increased the surface area of the block, and that made it even more efficient. He claimed a 2C lowering of temperature.

Just an idea.

yeah, those are pretty imperessive waterblocks...too bad i dont have my own home cnc...lol
i think the dimpling would make it better...but try it like it is first, then dimple it...( i dunno know how you are going to do that without messing it up, but you know more than i do apparently, since you own your own cnc...)
so i hope that it works...and i dont think that the water traveling thing will cause a problem, unless the build up of the slower moving water will cause a problem...but would that really cause a problem?
and by the looks of it, a lot of water would move through that thing...without much resistnace....
let us know the results...
