My Newly Built PC Won't Show Anything

So I had just built my PC, and I started it up everything seemed to be working the case had LED which lit, CPU fan was running along with the GPU, and the case fans and everything, but the monitor remained black and I couldn't pull up the BIOS or anything. Earlier when I was building, there was an issue with the one of the power supply connectors. It had 8 pins but the connector on the motherboard had 4. I connected it anyway and like I said, everything turned on but the display. I checked the monitor with another PC and the monitor works completely fine, so I am wondering, is the connector for the Power supply the issue? If so, what do I do to fix this?

Solution
Is the monitor connected to the gpu and not the motherboard?

I am shocked you built a pc with an FX6300 in 2018, it’s seriously weak by today’s standards and will significantly hold back a 1070Ti.

The Monitor has a VGA port which I connected to the MOTHERBOARD and not the graphics card.
