I've decided to post this in this thread forum due to my current thought process is my problem is with my GPU.
First I'll start off with specs
Intel i7 17400k
Asus ROG Maximus Dark Hero Z790
Asus TUF RTX 4080 Super
Corsair Vengeance Ram 64gigs 6000mhz
Be Quiet Dark power pro 1600w
Oh, the whole thing is in a full custom hardline loop. 420mm rad on the intake and a 360mm up top for exhaust.
So basically I've been fighting this thing since I built it, was having hard freezes, having to restart it through the power button. Eventually got BSODS. I reinstalled Windows like three times. Checked the drives, doing Chkdsk, the boot drive is a 2TB nvme drive. All good there. Did a memtest, no errors found. And in all of that I rma'd my CPU and bought new to ram. Problem still persisted.
However with the CPU replaced the BSODS stopped and now it's just hard freezing when I try and run a Furmark benchmark and I tried loading a game and within a minute or two the PC hard freezes. Temps never got over 40C. I also have cleared off my graphics driver's and reinstalled them several times. Even thought maybe my GPU isn't getting enough juice. Upgraded from 1000w to a 1600w.
I'm pretty sure the smoking gun is the fact that when I plugged the monitor into the motherboard and used the onboard graphics from the CPU it completed Furmark with out hard freezing. So if it is the GPU, did I mess up the block install? Or did I get a bum GPU?
I'm probably leaving out important information, it's late and I'm at a loss. Mostly trying to cope really hard about having to drop another 1100 bucks, and put it in the loop.
