I have been having this problem for a few months now. I put my PC on sleep quite often, but unfortunately when I wake my PC, I often get a black screen. So I have to restart my computer from the power button. When I start it up again, it shows me a Windows message that is all broken up and I can just make out that it says something like 'something went wrong' and it counts to 100% and restarts itself. After the restart it's fine but this is becoming very annoying. I have an GTX 660 2GB SC running Windows 8 64bit. Sorry for such a long message, if you are still here then any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not waking correctly from Sleep mode is usually due to a bad driver. It could be your GPU Audio or even chipset drivers. Have you made sure that all of your drivers are up to date? I personally do not put my computer to sleep short of my monitors blanking that is it. But when I did the times I had problems waking it up was due to my GPU drivers.

I have just looked on the Nvidia website at the drivers, at the top there is the GeForce Experience programme and I have it already installed. It says that it automatically keeps your drivers up to date for you.

It is just a test to isolate the real problem. If the PC wakes up from sleep-mode normally without the GPU, then there is a problem with the GPU. If the problem persists without the GPU then there is something wrong with software configuration or other faulty hardware.
