My uncle gave me this old pc with an intel i7 920 cpu, a gigabyte geforce gts 250 gpu, 4g ddr3 ram in the gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 motherboard. The pc was running win 7 when i got it but i upgraded it to win10. Since then when I press the power button it will load into windows and after 10-20 seconds the screen will glitch and then freeze. I am not able to downgrade back to win 7 because the one month period has expired. Sometimes when i try to open it in safe mode the screen will glitch again but wont freeze. I have tryied booting in multiple different monitors with multiple different cables and the problem is not caused by the monitors witch work perfectly when i connect them with other devices such as my laptop. I tryied instaling the latest version of untutu linux from a usb flash drive and the same thing happened. It loaded linux and after 10 seconds the screen glitched and froze. The installer works perfectly fine when I open it on another computer. At this point i dont know what else to do and im trying to find a solution via the forum. It would be highly appreciated if someone could tell me what the problem is. Thanks for hearing me.

There has always been many issues with Windows 10 when it was just upgraded from Windows 7. Best way to actually do it, is to do the upgrade so your license will be updated and then wipe the OS drive and do a clean Windows 10 install. That will often solve many issues.

When i run memtest it will run properly but the screen is glitched and the letters overlap so i cant see almost anything. I didnt do a clean win 10 installation since i dotn think the problem is with the os
