Hello Tom's Hardware,

I'm putting together a parts list for a gaming rig for a friend. I'm fairly confident in the my parts list but would be grateful for any suggestions and or advice from this knowledgeable community.

My one concern is he is planning to use a 75" 4k TV as his monitor. Yes, I have tried to convince him to get a nice 144Hz gaming monitor but to no avail. He only plans to game in 1080p but as I have no experience using a TV as a monitor I don't know if there are any hidden pitfalls, beyond the high input lag, in his plan. I would be thankful for any insight you all may have.

Thank you in advance.

I use a TV for gaming on my PC. all's good.
faster RAM, look to 3600 as the base freq.
for the x570 (all newly released chipsets actually) board look at the QVL for modules that will work no muss or fuss, the QVL RAM units have been tested to work at the factory.

I have an issue with that cooler, it's not much or any better than OEM, go for at least 240.
Best buy is 3600MHz Cl 16 memory.

This is more well balanced...
