My Passport fails on Windows

My Passport no longer opens on Windows systems but opens on ly on machines running on linux. What could be the problem and what is the solution?

What is exactly "no longer opens"? Is it seen by Windows as a drive? What exactly happens when you try to get to the files? Did you format it at some point to a different file system from what it came with?

The My Passport drive shows as a drive but files cannot be accessed. It used to show as "My Passport" but now it only shows Local Disk (G). I can access movies and photos using my TV set and files open on computers running on Linux but not on Windows systems regardless of the version.

Check to see what file system is on the drive. What exactly happens when you try to open the drive in Windows? Does it say it needs to be formatted? Show you files but won't open them? Blank drive? Any error messages?
