My passport ultra shows up but cant open

can anyone please help me with my hdd? i can see it on my computer but it wont open and the storage size are gone as well. the driver is updated and i can still see it on disk management and it says RAW and Healthy. please help me fix this problem. i already have a lot of important file stored in it.

Have you formatted the drive yet to its default settings?

(Right click the drive - properties - tools - quick format)

I have a 2TB Western Digital passport drive and i had to format it before i could use it.

That is really unpleasant. 🙁

I would totally agree with SR-71 Blackbird. You need to first run some raw HDD data recovery tool. Keep in mind that sometimes, drives that appear as RAW are dead(have failed).

If you manage to recover your data, it would be a really nice idea to run both short and extended DLG tests on the drive, so you can see if it is in a healthy state: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=vBQk4X

Thanks, it works! i did recover my important files although i lost some even though i can still recover it. It just takes few weeks for me to recover everything. All your helps are really appreciated! 😀
