My Passport Ultra suddenly will not open. Seems to be rejecting the password.

I use a MacBook Pro and have been using a My Passport Ultra for a long time without any problem. Apple did some sort of up-date overnight with an automatic restart. Now I can't connect to the My Passport. When i try to enter my password it freezes for a long time, then shakes saying password invalid. I don't know what to do.

Welcome to the community, Elcurioso!

I'd recommend you to try to resolve the issue by reinstalling the WD Drive Utilities and WD Security software on your MacBook. You will be able to find the program installers on our official website here.
If you have access to another Mac OS X computer that hasn't been updated yet, try connecting the WD My Passport Ultra there and see how it will get recognized. You might also want to check Disk Utility and use it to test the external HDD for any defects.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!
