i just built my first pc and it boots but i dont get an in my monitor. all of the parts where new so i dont think that they are damaged. i think the problem is that i didnt use a graphics card. i think i read that only some cpus work without a graphics card.
i have an intel core i3-7100 and my motherboard is a H110M PRO-VH.
should i install a graphics card or is there another problem
i used:
CPU: Intel core i3-7100
Motherboard: H110M PRO-VH
Hard drive: WD Blue 2.0 TB
Power Supply: EVGA 500W

Solution
It might not be actually booting see below.

The board doesn't have a BIOS loaded to support a Kaby Lake CPU , send it back and get a B250 board , because you can't update the BIOS on that board without a Skylake CPU.

Yup like SR-71 Blackbird said, 100 series boards dont support kaby lake out of the box, they are for sky lake users who want to upgrade to kaby lake later on, if you are jumping straight on kaby lake, you need a 200 series board.

If the board is new, just send it back and tell them what the issue is, they may offer to update the bios for you, or exchange it for a 200 series board, B250 or H270 etc, failing that, yes you will need a sky lake CPU to update the bios first before you can use your kaby lake in it.
