I've never built a PC be fore so need to check here if I'm on the correct path.

I'm building a PC for iRacing and would like to know if the components below will give me a working computer? Have I missed anything.? (I already have a GPU, the RX 580, 8GB).

Also, Is there anything I could change that might be overkill or not enough kill?

Thanks.

It works but I can see where you can save $500 NZ dollars and have similar performance. This build will allow you to run that cpu with the power limits turned off in the bios. It's a round a bout way of OC these locked Intel cpu's.

Use a site like PCPartpicker.com, it will give you a list of components to choose from for each part of the system, and will point out any compatibility issues. I've had a very brief look, and it looks as though it should work fine, but of course, check it yourself first on compatibility websites, and ensure that crucial things like the socket type on the board and the CPU are compatible, as it's a newer generation CPU I believe it's fine looking at them.

Better look at that motherboard.

Better look at that case.

Review of that cpu w/benchmarks. Look for Core i5 11400F + Opt on the benchmarks.

Thanks for your advice.

This computer will get added to (I will cannibalizing it) in a few years and it will become a second (design/video editing) computer, after I upgrade to a super computer. That's why I've add a little over kill/furture proofing. Still I wanted to hear where it was over kill.

Very interesting about the roundabout way of over clocking, locked parts. Is that why you added the "Noctua NH-U9S Chromax Black CPU Cooler "? Over clocking will add heat?

Thanks.
