So this is what happened. I reformat my computer from windows xp to windows 7 ultimate. Then I installed the drivers for my video card and my sound card. I installed realtek 2.70 for the sound card. But my computer cant detect my speakers. I tried opening it from playback devices and it says that Realtek HDMI output not plugged in. So I was wondering if I need to install something to make my computer detect my speakers/headset when plugged in. I already check the device manager and there is no problem on it. Can anyone help me with this problem?

In sound properties, which device is set as default? If your PC wants to output sound over HDMI rather than the analog outputs you need to change that setting. Right-lick the speaker volume control icon in the system tray and go to "playback devices" to make sure the correct device is set as default.

I cant set it as default devices because it says that "Realtek HDIMI OUTPUT" - ATI HDMI AUDIO - Not plugged in. So set as default device option is not available.
