So my pc can't find my "new" internal hard drive, it doesnt show up in disk management or device manager.. any ideas to what i can do?
also it is a asus motherboard and the drive doesnt even show up in bios
a) power cable is bad, test with another known working drive
b) sata cable is bad, test with another known working drive
c) sata port is disabled in BIOS or set to RAID or wrong settings
d) drive is dead
For some reason this harddrive doesnt have a power input? all it have is the sata cable, which ive tried testing with another.
but if it doesnt have power input then it shouldnt work? ive been wondering why there werent any power input
thats pretty much what i dont understand, a friend of mine simple gave this internal hard drive to me because i needed one, but he claimed all i had to do was to plug in the cable.
but since theres no power input how is it supposed to run..
sigh.. it just did need a power source, but since i only have one that isnt used for a hard drive but is used as a disc drive i have to chose between them until i have another cable..
