I do some heavy Facebooking like loading lots of videos, loading hundreds of comments, chatting with several people, and scrolling all the way through. After doing that stuff for about 30 mins, my PC starts to lag a lot while using Facebook. Stuttering, and lagging while scrolling, the screen would occasionally freeze for about 5 seconds. I've monitored the system usage, and here's what I found.

CPU: Hovers around 60-80% using Facebook (I'm already experiencing stuttering at this point), then it occasionally jumps up to 100% CPU usage making my PC freeze for about 5 seconds.

RAM: 600MB on Chrome

Disk: 0-1%

*The only thing that uses more than 1% CPU usage based from my monitoring is Chrome.exe

My system specs are:
Intel G2030
4GB RAM
R7 250 2GB
Corsair VS450

Note: When playing AAA games, my GPU usage is always at 100% while my CPU usage is around 30-60% only, so I always thought that my CPU is strong.

and it may also be ur ram. As 4g ram usually is ok but heavy video playing WILL show a little bit issue as vram would be occupied like seats at a ufc fight!
when you see in task manager, you will many chrome.exes in there even if only one browser is opened. chrome is knows to consume ram over extended periods.
just invest on a 8gb stick of ram and let the smoothness roll!

What are your CPU temps? Upgrading to a used Ivy Bridge i5 and getting 8GB of RAM total should help if the issue is not heat/virus/malware/software related. That being said I have a U-640 i7 (dual core) laptop with 8GB of RAM and do not have the issue you are describing. How long has this been going on? Any new programs installed around the time this started? Have you scanned your computer for malware/viruses? How old is your power supply? Do you have another PSU you can try?

CPU Temps is around 37-45° Celsius. I'm not sure if it's a software issue, but I regularly install, malwarebytes and spyware doctor to clean my PC, then I uninstall them afterwards. I don't know when it started, but it always happens on heavy facebooking. The only chrome extensions I have are: Adobe, Google Docs, and Internet Download Manager. My power supply is around 3 yrs old, it was only used on this PC, and my PC is quite power efficient, so I don't think it was stressed during those 3 years. I don't have another PSU I can try.

After doing that, Firefox was a bit worse than Chrome, I didn't try it on Opera anymore. I can have 20 tabs of tomshardware.com in either browsers and I don't experience the stuttering and lag. It's hard for me to accept that an Ivy Bridge CPU can't handle heavy Facebook usage.

Hey, thanks for the response. I don't have an ad blocker apparently.
