When i go into the screen resolution from windows or through the nvidia control, i set to another resolution or even the refresh rate from 60hz to 144hz, it DOESN'T CHANGE and immediately REVERT back to the default one.

What I've tried: -Restart computer
-Reinstall driver for both monitor and graphic cards
-I've even tried another monitor but the problem is still there

Is it because of my pc or my monitor? What should i do?

Solution
hmmm after a bit of searching, it appears earlier versions of this model monitor had an issue using 144hz over displayport and DVI-D was ok

so dvi-d on its own has the same issue?

you said you tried another monitor, what model was it?

are the cables correctly rated for 144hz and it's definitely a dual link cable, not single?

as per weberdarren97's suggestion, also do a DDU wipe and re-install

I use GTX 1060 3gb and the monitor is: AOC G2460PQU, I've also tried to plugged the DVI-D and DisplayPort but it still does not working

No it doesn't. I mean it allow me to change to 144hz but it revert back to 60hz afterward

Yes, I've check the cable and nothing's wrong about it, and yeah it's a dual link cable. Another monitor I've tried is a Dell E2015HV, this one is not a 144hz one but i've tried to change the resolution but the result is still the same, it revert back to the recommended resolution which is 1600 x 900 even if i want to select any other resolutions. Which led me wondering if there's something wrong about my computer. I'll try doing the DDU wipe and replied as soon as possible.

P/S: yea my English is bad, hopefully u understand the issue i'm facing

Hello, after doing the DDU wipe and some test with both monitor, its working perfectly but only on DVI_D cable, I guess I have to accept the fact that DisplayPort is somehow broken. Thanks you all tho!
