Question My pc doesn't boot unless I reset the bios with the jumper

It used to happen only once in a while. But today it started to happen every time I restart my pc.

When it boots up there are no problems whatsoever.

When it doesn't boot, I see only a

-

with black screen as soon as I press the power button. It doesn't get to the Asus screen.

The motherboard is an Asus Z97-P. Is it something I can fix?

My first thought would be a dying CMOS battery.

okay apparently I had to reseat the CMOS battery after playing with the jumpers.
it's fixed.

Are you sure your pc boots without resetting bios every time you power on just by replacing cmos battery? In my case it didn't. Help me please!!!

I guess you need to replace yours. Mine has been working fine ever since I simply took it off and put it back on.

okay, the problem came back.
I bought a new bios battery but that didn't fix it.
Just as before, it works normally if I exit the bios without saving anything but every time I restart the pc I get the blank "-" screen. It's only fixed if I reset the bios (every single time I restart).
