My pc dont boot after ram replacement

Hy guys
I have a problem .
My friend gave to me a kingston KVR800D2N6/4G but my pc dont boot fan start spining
My pc is an old Hp DC7700
pentium d 3ghz
4,5 gb ram
and integrated graphics card
i wanted to remove the stick that have 512 mb of ram and put the new one with 4 gb but pc how i said ... does nothing
what can be the problem
i tried to clean the cmos nothing
i tried to put only the 4g stick and nothing
on internet someone said is only compatibile with amd . is it true ?
pls help me because i really want to replace ram

motherboards only work with certain ram find out the motherboard download HWINFO it will tell you
