my pc freeze and i have to restart it!

hey bros,so i downloaded the game unturned from steam i've played it for 1 day with no issues after that day the game would freeze and i have to close the game...so i couldn't play the game anymore i've tried alot of times but the issue is still there...so i didn't play it but now the whole pc would freeze after a certain time and nothing is responsive not even the mouse i have to restart the pc...i've deleted unturned and the pc still freeze!!!i have windows 8.1 64bit and i don't know what to do now plzzz help!

When the PC freezes does the mouse still move? The general rule of thumb is if the PC freezes and the mouse still moves it's a software problem, if the mouse does not move it is usually hardware. This is not always the case but I find it is often and where I start my troubleshooting. Quite often a PC freezing is down to a failing had drive. Do you have a hard drive or an SSD? Check in your even log for any disk errors, also download a hard drive diagnostic tool for your drive from the manufactures website and run a test on your drive.

Other than hard drive, the next thing to test would be RAM using memtest86+. Run at least one full pass and test for errors. If both hard drive and RAM are ok then you need to start digging deeper! Power supply is another possible candidate.

Unfortunately there is no magic fix answer to problems like this. You need to start testing components bit and by bit until you find the problem.

Dude have you tried accessing your OS using safemode? if not yet, then better try it, if it will still freeze while inside safemode then there is a big possibility that its a hardware failure just like Gasser243 advised. If safemode works, then there are still uninstalled files from the game you installed that you need to remove manually.

Ok i know this is old but if i format my hard disk will the problem leave?
