So i have an old pc i'm trying to revive . i plug it in, psu starts hissing high pitched. I start it, then it freezes after ram check screen (first screen) and after 10s powers off completley. No videocard inserted, ram switchup : same thing. Plugged hdd out, starts , passes the boot screen, "no hdd "message, powers off after 30s. (Longer).

Its much more silencer then it should alltogether and i assume it has less power and overheats. Plug in hdd back, energy demand increase ,freeze, lower fan speed , faster overheat, faster shutdown. Plug out hdd, no freeze, fan speed faster, overheati g slower, shutting later. I think...; Also psu has 4 swolen capacitors. Mobo looks fine phisically, so ram does. All my bets on psu but i need opinions.

Solution
If in fact your psu has swollen capacitors I'd stop using it completely. That's not a good sign and could be a safety hazard. Whether it turns out to be the psu causing all your problems or not, swollen capacitors means it needs replaced. It's difficult to sort out problems unless you have a known good power supply which from the sounds of it you don't.
