[SOLVED] My PC freezes every second in games but I cans still move my mouse.

My PC freezes about every second when I am playing games. The GPU temps and load seem normal and the CPU looks fine but the HDD keeps stopping. The weirdest part is that it stops freezing when I have task manager open. Any ideas? I also recently had a problem with a virus which I was able to remove but far may be the cause of this problem.

Here are the components:
Rtx 2060 Gigabyte
Ryzen 5 3600X
MSI B450M Pro VDH Max
1TB HDD
800W Gold rated PSU
16GB 2400 Mhz Apacer Ram

Knowing you've had a virus may still be lingering. Some viruses, ie mining malware, can cease and hide if open task manager so you don't see it running.

What did you use to scan? Malwarebytes?

Probably is best to format and start again. If games run fine while TM is open, it sure does smell of malicious activity.
