I have the following PC specs:
  • CPU: i5-7400
  • Mobo: MSI B250-M Mortar
  • CPU Cooler: Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi
  • GPU: MSI Gaming X RX 470 4GB
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Royal (2x8GB 3200mhz)
  • PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 550W
  • SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 256GB
  • HDD: 1 TB Seagate Barracuda
  • Case: NZXT S340
From the time I've built my PC, i haven't overclocked my GPU. My PC starts freezing seconds after Windows desktop loads every time. When the freezing happen, my monitor displays full blank color with any of the following: black, dark blue, light green, light pink, etc. The GPU also starts to heat up while the fans are not rotating. Way before this problem occurs, when I turn on my PC it displays a error that says something like "Radeon settings have recently have encountered a problem. Stock settings has been loaded.". I just ignored that error because i was thinking it was AMD driver bug since my PC is just running fine when I'm using it particularly in gaming. I've done the following tests below:

  • Used DDU and reinstall drivers, it doesn't work.
  • Installed old versions of AMD drivers(19.5.2), it doesn't work.
  • I've pulled out the GPU and directly connect the DP to the MOBO, PC doesn't freeze.
  • Connected the GPU and use it without drivers installed, PC doesn't freeze.
What could be causing the problem? Thank you very much for the help.
