Hello, for about 2 years I have been having some problems in online gaming. Every game I seem to play feel lag but I dont understand why because my PC is good enough to not be lagging and the same thing with my internet. In most games I get around 240 fps (I Could get more but I cap it) and 10-15 ping. I don't have any constant ping or fps drops, or stutters so I really do not know what the cause of this issue is. If you know what is causing this or how to fix it please let me know.

My specs
----------
Windows 11
Graphics card - 3080 ti
Cpu - i9-12900K
32 GB of ram
Ethernet Cable

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

What online games do you play?

Wired or wireless network connectivity to your network router (or modem/router if combined)?

What specific games?

PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drives: make, model, capacity, how full?

= = = =

Two immediate things to check and do:

1) Verify that only one network adapter is enabled on your PC. Because you are using wired connectivity ensure that any and all wireless network adapters on your PC are disabled.

2) Disable IPv6 on the wired connection.

Are you familar with Task Manager and Resource Monitor? If not, then start using each of the tools to monitor system performance. Use both tools but only one tool at a time.

Objective being to determine what the system/PC is doing or trying to do (or perhaps has stopped doing) when you perceive that a game is lagging.

There is no rush - take your time, be observant. Keep notes.

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor (use both but only one at a time) to observe system performance.

First while not gaming and then second while gaming.

Watch for what changes when lagging happens.

What game(s)? Source?
