Question my PC has power adapter same as laptop have . can i install a psu in it.

i am going to buy new motherboard and processor and 90w is not enough. my adaptor is HP 90w one with 35w processor and planning to buy i5 2400 95w

Usually a standard ATX power supply won´t fit if the supplier (HP) was delivering it with an external PSU.

if i buy i5 3470 which is 77w will it work with my 90w external psu. i will buy new motherboard compatible with it

Maybe the i5-3470S is another option (65Watt)

You will need a mITX motherboard and eventually an adapter to power it up with your current power supply. (ATX to 19V)
Also getting a 120W power supply with 19Volt should be better, to have a little head space.

500gb hdd+keyboard+mouse+2 fans
No Gpu.
Can't find any oem versions of 3470s (tight on budget). Not a heavy gamer. Just some gaming and most multitasking.
