My PC is lagging very badly

My PC was working fine until one day it started to lagging so badly that it requires about 5-10 minutes to start up and it takes 1 min to refresh the icons and the mouse pointer moves in a lagging way what is the problem

anything you installed that could have done this? any setting changes that could have caused this? did you touch anything inside pc?
