my pc is running games at 1080p and i get input not supported?

Hi thre so i have a 900p monitor but my games keep on opening at 1080p.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
I cant buy a monitor atm>

Where did you get the games from? it doesn't allow you to change the settings before it open? no configuration?

the games are from steam,ubisoft and origin. But games like doom and pubg/rainbow six siege open up at 1080p when my monitor is only 900p. And some games can be launched in windowed mode but such as doom and pubg aren supported due to it having a different engine than source engine.
