How do i make my pc faster?

Slow as in...??

There's a few things you can do regardless
1) Open task manager, go to "startup" and disable any programs that you don't need running out of the gates
2) Go to "uninstall or change a program" and uninstall anything you don't use
3) Defrag your hard drive
4) If you got the money, putting an SSD in your system (especially in older laptops, I've found) will make your system booting a snap.
5) If you're under 4 GB of RAM, maybe getting more memory will make things feel a little faster.

When is the last time you defragged your HD or ran a malware scan?
How are your temps?

how do i install a SSD in my system? because i have heard you can just put a cable from your pc into it and its installed but im not sure

If you have SATA power and SATA cable (basically any hard drive made within the last 10 years) you'll have no problem with an SSD
