Hey guys,

I just got new internet today with 200mbps download. Just checked using my work laptop and the internet speed checker is showing over 200mbps over WIFI.

However, when I check on my computer the maximum I am getting is around 10-15mbps over wifi.

Any ideas what could be throttling?

Specs are:
Intel Core i5 4670k
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming (MS-7821)
Radeon HD 7970
802.11n Wireless Card
Windows 7
Virgin Internet (UK)

Let me know if you need any other info - thanks

What model is that "802.11n Wireless card" ? Is it dual band?
Your laptop is probably connecting on 5Ghz. You laptop also has an antenna in the lid. It isn't buried behind the case like a PCIe card. Or a "nano" adapter with almost no antenna, like a lot of USB adapters.
