My pc lagging

My pc laggs while playing FIFA 10 which dosen't required very high graphics.I played that game on 8500GT,9400GT. same prob.tell me what will be the possible reasons.Is this occurs because of virus????

check your cpu usage...It should be around zero without any apps running...If not check for viruses and other background programmes..

m playing that game on 1024x768 same as monitor resolution.
m using AMD athlon 64x2 dual core 5200+.
ma system memory is 2GB DDR2.

Does the lagging happens even if you play at the lowest settings?
Try playing the game with no internet connection, no antivirus and no other programmes open. Does the lagging happens then?
Did you install the latest Nvidia drivers for your card?

m using internet,AVG 9 antivirus...
ya i have installed latest drivers for 8500GT.
obviously programs r close with its process from WTM(task mangr)....

If your OS is not Vista or Windows 7, check your HDD defragmentation status. If defragmentation is needed, uninstall the game, defragment and reinstall the game.
