My pc lags every 5-10 mins

hi i have an pre built hp p6122f with amd phenom 8450 tri core 2.40 ghz and 6gbs of ram with a nividea 9100 graphics card and it ran like a god until a couple mounths ago it started to lag every 5-10 mins when playing games on and offline and only games everything else is fine it just lags out and goes a couples froms a sec and then it goes back to normal and runs fine anyhelp will be greatly apreciated as it will save me around 600$

What's the CPU Usage in the Task Manager when it starts lagging?

cod4 is around 50% both cpu usage and phyiscal guna check more games soon
edit:just remebered if it matters all my games are on steam and i have tried lowest settings which minamizes the problem and very rarely on older game/low graphics is slightely playable like minecraft

Could be the GPU overheating.

i know should i call hp or what ive tried everything but i dont want to buy anything for my pc like a new gpu or graphics card etc.
