Hello, i recently realized that my PC have been making a single (some times multiple) clicking/popping sound, especially after i turned it for 1-2 hours. and only repeating every few hour. is this sound caused by thermal expansion of the case (it's alumunium with some plastic in the front) or something else? please i'm somewhat paranoid.

Case: make and model?

==== Important ====

Clicking could be a failing HDD: be sure that all important data is backed up, proven recoverable, and readable.

Anything that you do or just happenstance could bring the drive (if a drive) to a catastrophic end.

That said:

It could be heat related but it is a bit premature to say one way or another.

Try to narrow down the location of the popping/clicking sound.

Are you comfortable with opening the case and being able to look about and listen more closely?

If so, power down, unplug, open the case.

Then plug in again, power up, listen, look.
