I have just rebuilt a desktop from scratch.
Am getting a blank monitor screen so this morning going to try a new CMOS battery.
Here is my spec.
Motherboard - G41m-vs3
PSU 500w
Graphics card - Nvidia Quadro FX 580
6gb RAM
Also have ordered a DVI to VGA adapter.

If anyone has a clue - please let me know - almost went through the window last night !!!

Solution
Here is the support download list for your motherboard:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/g41m-vs3/#Download
It does not have any drivers or support for anything past windows 7.
Do not expect some random HDD with windows 10 to work.

To test ram and basic functionality,
Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:
If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

What is the purpose of this rebuild?

Here is my spec.
Motherboard - G41m-vs3
CPU: Intel Q6600 (Quad Core @ 2.4GHz)
PSU 500w
Graphics card - Nvidia Quadro FX 580
6gb RAM (but 2gb removed - maybe faulty)

Here is the latest - response from monitor now - can get into BIOS no problem.

But after exiting the BIOS - I get the flashing underscore in the top left of the screen and thats all.
One thing I must mention is that the 250gb hard SATA drive is pre-loaded with Windows 10 - now some sites say my Motherboard wont support Windows 10 - other sites say just gotta update drivers !!

Thanks all in advance

Yeah....thats not going to work.

'Preloaded' from where?

From some other system, create a Win 10 USB.
Boot from that, clean install.
