[SOLVED] My PC requires two Ethernet ports on my router for some reason

My PC has a wired Ethernet connection to my router. From the router, there are two cables that enter the wall. I assumed that one of these went to my PC. Turns out that my PC loses Internet connectivity if I unplug either one even though there is only one wire coming into my PC. What gives?

One of those goes to the Internet and the other to your PC. If either of those are disconnected, you will lose internet access since your connection to the Internet would be severed.
