I want to change my default output device to my case jacks so that I can use both headphones and a mic. but when I go to the "playback" tab under "sound" it says that all digital outputs are "not plugged in" even when I have the jack plugged into the case jacks and not the monitor jack, and therefore it won't let me change them to the default. I have been forced to use only headphones from my monitor jack until this is fixed. Someone please help.

"it says that all digital outputs are "not plugged in"

Your headphones don't connect to a digital output.

They connect to an analog output.

Check all the devices on the list.
The monitor is listed, then there are five things labeled "digital output" they also say "AMD high definition audio device" and "not plugged in" those are all six outputs listed.
