My PC slows down after few minutes of usage. Help.

My computer boots slower than it used to and after few minutes of usage it will begin to slow down, especially when using web browser (keyboard input lag and page stuttering when I'm trying to scroll down)


I've already tried:

-Cleaning my pc, removed dust from all fans etc.
-ran malwarebytes and super antispyware on safe mode
-defragmented HDD

My HDD is 60% full so there is still a lot of space.

First the router does not make your internet slow. The router can handle speeds far greater than your Internet speed. It handles several pcs on the LAN side at 100 Mbps; your WAN side handles the feed from your ISP which is not likely over 10 Mbps.

Secondly, if you feel you are seeing a slower speed, measure it. Do not assume a download from some web site is a measure of speed. Most downloading servers do not deliver anywhere near the max available speed; in fact they throttle back to be able to feed several users and as the number of users increases, the speed per user drops.

Thirdly, the Internet speed is the speed that is used by all users; if you have 4 users downloading large files, each will have approximately 25% of the total...

My PC is well cooled so I doubt it is overheating, I have decent number of fans and reapplied thermal paste. I have a stock cooler but I'm not overclocking.

It didn't , I am now running on safe mode with networking. It still took longer to boot than it should.

So basically my problem is slow boot up time and lag when browsing, especially when I open youtube everything else will slow down.

posted my build. my OS is windows 7 ultimate. btw there was a problem with electricity yesterday, It turned off on then off, I'm not using a high end avr. I'm afraid it is caused by electric surge but my pc is working , just slower than it used to.

that could be it, interesting. i suppose it is possible the power outage made your bios change voltage settings, go into the bios and reset everything to default. test your ram, run prime95 for your cpu, and furmark for your gpu, see if any of them is messed up.

I had the same issue, windows would start fine and after a few minutes it would be like in 'pause' then suddenly everything I tried to open would open to pause again, I tried antivirus, clean results, system defrag, safe mode, msconfig, and nothing, so I tried removing a bank of ram (2 cards) and kept one bank running with 4 gigs, I had 8 with all the slots full, now I don't have any issues, the problem I think is because I used 2 different brands of ram 2 and 2 and they somehow conflicted, try it out and see if it works for you.

Fourthly, I note that you have a wireless router. I suspect you have not implemented all the security steps available to you and freeloaders have hacked in. Install and implement rigid security and this keeps freeloaders from getting in. My guess is that this is the real cause of your apparent slow speed.
