My pc starts to windows but with no video. Tried two displays. Got beep codes (asus p5n-e sli motherboard) but they're pretty random and I cant find anything to match. Beeps:

Long pause

Any ideas?

HERE is a webpage explaining what certain beep codes actually mean

The issue you are having could either be related to your RAM or the Graphics Card

First of all I would like you to take the RAM out of the dims and put them back in, see if the issue still persists and reply back

Great stuff, I'll try it when I get home tonight. In the mean time, I'm out and about today. Think I should pick up a graphics card which I can always take back if I don't open it.

My motherboard will take 2 x PCIe x16, Single VGA mode: x16 (Default), SLI mode: x8, x8. What do I need to look for to make sure it would be compatible with the Asus P5N-e SLI motherboard?

Cheers.

Any GPU that uses a PCI Express x16 slot will work just fine :) (which is pretty much all the cards out today)

Recommendations:
GTX 650Ti - Both cards here have about the same performance and are in the low to mid range end of gaming graphics card,(that is if you want to game)
AMD Radeon 7770

GTX 660 - Again both GPU's will show about the same performance and are in the mid range of Graphics Cards, these cards will allow you to game at high to ultra settings :)
AMD Radeon 7850

Okay, didn't pick up a graphics card but I have reseated both pairs of memory cards and tried with each pair removed. Also disconnected all but primary hard disk but getting same crazy beep code. Is graphics card looking likely? There is defo power to it as the fan is running.

Just as a test take the cables out for the Optical Drive and see if that is the culprit
