Question My PC suddenly died whilst I was watching a stream. Now it powers up with no display.

So I was watching a stream then suddenly my screens went black and my pc turned off.

When I pressed the start button it seemed fine until no display showed up at all

- I went to hold the pc power button to shut it down again and their was no response from it at all. It just stayed on so I switched it off at the wall

Switching it off at the wall or flick switch is the only way to turn it off.

• CPU fan still runs
• Graphics card still runs
• Battery fan on bottom stops after a few seconds

All other fans run fine.

It wasn't hot or anything when I opened it up.

Its an oldish prebuilt these are the specs that I have on it

This may sound strange, but I suggest the following:

Power the system down and remove all powered connections (power cable, video cable, powered speakers).
Open the case, and remove the R9 270.
Reconnect the previously removed powered connections, attaching your video cable/display to one of the on-board video connections attached directly to the motherboard.
Power on the system.

Do you see an image?

No image. I also tried with HDMI

Every fan is starting fine just no display, only fan that isn't working is the battery

Fans spinning means the system is getting power. Even with a defective motherboard, this will still happen in some situations.

You have a very old (by tech standards) system. Systems/components do fail.

Your data could still be intact on your HDD, so not all is lost.

When I unplug the HDMI whilst itss on the monitor gets a check cable connection, just no windows display.

Does that give me any hope or still leaning towards a dead motherboard?
