i recently made a custom pc and i just got it to turn on but it wont connect to my tv. Ive tried the hdmi and vga in both the graphics card and the motherboard. No matter how much i try my tv never gets a signal. And i was able to connect to my monitor with the vga connection with my old pc. Could i have a cable not connected to the motherboard?
Specs
diypc micro case
gigabyte motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3
phenom II X4 965
amd radeon r7 240 msi graphics card
hitachi hard drive
430 watt power supply
and a element tv

I used some parts from my old pc such as the hard drive and ram which had windows 10 installed. As for the drivers my old motherboard had one prebuilt into it already updated but for the gpu i have now its brand new. Also sorry for the downvote, im on my phone and brand new to this site 😛

thats one of the issues, i tried to hook up my vga cord from my monitor to the graphics card but it just shows a black screen. I know that the vga cord is connected to it because whenever i connect it the monitor makes the sound of turning on but stays black. So i think its either something not connected to the motherboard or maybe something wrong with the proccesor.

EDIT: I tried connecting it to the motherboard as well but same result

if im correct the case speaker is a 2 socket hole which connects to the motherboards F_PANEL which i already have connected and im pretty sure i heard it beep when i tested the processor without a cpu cooler it made a beep. And if i that was the case speaker then no i dont hear any beeps.

Ok thanks for your help, ill try to use another processor and see if it changes anything which i wanted to make sure here because removing and reapplying themal paste is annoying 😛 but ill try and tell you or anyone else who has this problem afterwards. Once again thanks for helping.

it partially worked with the monitor, it made a sound which its a older monitor, meaning it connected but the screen was still black. Is there any type of video pin i should double check in the motherboard?
