My pc wont detect my Msi geforce gtx 970 gaming 4g

I have an
intel i5 6600k skylake procressor,
Msi geforce gtx 970 gaming 4g procressor,
2x 8gb ddr4 ram
And a gigabyte z170mx gaming 5 motherboard

I tried installing the gpu but only the on board integrated intel 530 gpu shows up under device management and the driver for the msi gpu cant detect it either i have it plugged i correctly and have tried the three different pcie ports ive also tried to mess around in the bios can anyone give me any help
 
Solution
It should be installed into the top most PCIe slot (the one closest to the CPU).
Check your BIOS settings for an option related to whether it must boot the iGPU or PCIe graphics first. Should be under the advanced sections somewhere or boot options.
