My PC won't recognize my external, but my friends will.

Hello,
Up until yesterday everything was fine. Then my WD external just stopped being recognized by my computer. Odd thing is when I plug it into my friends laptop it works fine. Any ideas?

So the external unit appears to be OK. Suspicion has to fall on the port in your that you try to connect it to. Try another similar port connector. You could check whether the port on the outside of your case is connected to a mobo port via a cable - if it is, check if that cable is loose.
