Hi fellow techies I have a question that has been crossing my mind for ages. So I got my pc in June 2018 and I was Wondering should I upgrade or not everything is fine the specs are a i5 7400 gtx 1050 ti 8gb ram how long until I should upgrade? PS Also while ingame my cpu usage is like 80 to 90 percent with temps of 65c is this ok for 8 to 10 hours of gaming a day thx

Solution
If the performance you are getting is fine by you, there's no need to upgrade. If you feel like the games are not playable, you should upgrade. The 1050 Ti can run games at 1080p just fine for some people and for other people the 1050 Ti is no longer a valid 1080p card - it all depends on what you expect out of your system. The temps and usage is normal, especially if the game is newer and utilizes 4 cores(almost every modern game does).

What is the GPU usage in games? And what games do you play, at what settings, and how much FPS is acceptable to you? These are just some questions you need to ask yourself to see if the GPU you have right now fulfills your needs or not.
You should upgrade when you feel the system no longer does what you want it to do, I cant give you a date when you should upgrade lol. That is a capable system for 1080p gaming.

65c is perfectly acceptable for 24hour operation of that CPU, it can safely run a lot hotter than that.

If you are talking about the CPU getting damaged due to high usage, then you don't need to worry about that at all. Modern processors can stay under heavy load for long times without any significant reduction in their lifespan.
