I am experiencing %100 cpu usage when i am gaming i tried to track the cpu usage and realized all of my 4 cores have the same usage, same graph. I think they should have different usage than each other. I have i5-7300hq

edit: i find out my gpu is not working even tho it seems like working

Yes you are right. I made quick search on game i play to see how much processors they use. I am not playing any of modern games (most recent game i play is rainbow 6 siege) some the games i tested are : human fall flat, project cars, dota 2, rainbow six siege, dirt rally, company of heroes 2.

I am okay with cpu usage maxes because we are doing tons of process at a time and i know the basics of processors. The behavior is really weird.

i am using task manager + msi Afterburner. i am pretty sure they are same. i am tracking them for almost 1 day now. I am also started to track them with HWINFO.

So you are telling me Dota 2, Human Fall Flat, Dirt Rally can max out a 7th Generation CPU even on low graphic settings ?

btw Android Studio also maxes it

No idea about HFF but wouldn’t have thought so, DOTA and Dirt yes. You have to remember this is a laptop quad core and not a desktop cpu.

Also lowering the graphics settings would make it more likely for the cpu to hit 100% across all cores. Most game settings do not reduce cpu load, only gpu workload. By lowering the settings the gpu tries to push out higher FPS, the cpu has a harder time keeping up with the gpu.

I got your point. I saw different cpus with less power. lowering or maxing graphing doesnt change anything at all. I exampled a big range of games to tell issue. If you want different examples than games to understand the problem i can give another example. updating any software i use maxes all four of my cores to hit %100.

hmm i didnt know that. still wouldnt it cause %100 hardrive usage instead of cpu usage ?

Especially on low graphics, the lower the graphics the more FPS your GPU can provide, the more your CPU has to work.

Also task manager is showing you usage OVER TIME (of one sec I think) modern CPUs use task juggling/migration they round robin every thread to all available cores to prevent one single core from heating up too much.
Because all cores run all thread over one second all the bars look very similar.
