Question My PS2 Adapter will not work with Stepmania Dance Mat ?

Okay, so I recenty got a PS2 Adapter for my dance mat to play Stepmania, however the mat would constantly disconnect and reconnect itself every 1 or so second(s), while also keeping pressed one button held. Can anyone help me find one that works or a workaround for the problem? Thank you.

its probably your adaper is not setup correctly
