So here's the problem, I have radix VI 550w power supply and I'm bout to replace my gpu from gtx 650 2gb to rx 580 8gb, and the problem is that I can't find any more connectors. GTX 650 needed only 1 connector (6 pin) and the RX 580 8GB needs 8+6 pin connectors... What am I supposed to do now? Thanks!

I found their website and even the newest PSUs the have only put 84% of rated wattage across the 12V line. That is a VERY old platform it is based on.

Your going from a GPU that pulls less then 75 watts to a GPU that pulls well over 200 watts. Your PSU needs replacing period.

Here is the cheapest decent PSU I can find. It would be better if you can find the 550 watt version of it even if its a few bucks more, but 450 should be ok as long as you don't overclock the GPU or CPU.

As far as the RX580, if you are buying it used and getting a good deal on one its good, if you are buying it new you might want to consider a GTX 1650 Super instead. They are comparable in performance but the 1650 Super uses less power, makes less heat, has better drivers and will be quieter.

CX 450W won't be enough. That only has 1x 6+2pin and the RX580 he was saying needs an 8pin and 6pin.

Otherwise the next best option would be to go with the Corsair TX-M at 550W https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...d-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020133-na it is only 5 Quid more expensive than the CX 550 but a far superior PSU.

Oops yeah thought they had a 6+2 connector. Wasnt aware of any RX580s that have an 8 and 6 pin, but looking online it seems there are. Some have said the 6 pin isnt required for it to run and is there for overclocking more then anything.

Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the power requirements of a GPU. While it might work with only the 8pin, that could cause extra stress on the PCIe port during times of power spikes.

The Sapphire Nitro 580 has an 8+6pin, i don't know of any other models offhand, but there definitely models that need an extra 6 pin.
At stock clocks, an RX580 doesn't draw enough power to actually need the extra 6 pins, however, it may be designed not function without it.
Interestingly, the modular version of the CX450, the CX450M has dual 6+2 pin connectors and is only around 10 pounds above the budget.

Problem is the one for 50 Quid is on Amazon and it won't be shipped for a good month. The next one that is in stock is ebuyer which is 58 Quid with shipping. Really the best thing would be to bite the bullet and spend 75 Quid on the TX-M.

The VS is cheap and at least OK on power delivery. Its Over Current and Over Power Protection aren't set correctly. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/corsair-vs450-power-supply,6076.html If it is all you can afford...then it is about the best you can get. If you can afford more, going with the 75 Quid Corsair TX-M is light-years better.

That one is on the same level as the CX series which is a step up from the VS. I agree if you can afford 10 extra Quid to use this instead of the VS.
