I built my own pc and it was working completely fine but after I connected it to a monitor and literally only pressed F1 to go into the setup my PC froze. It wouldn't even turn off from the power button on the case so I then used the switch on the back of the psu. After I tried turning it back on again it wouldn't work the way it did before. When i switch on the psu, the fans in my PC power on and the front case fan led flashes. The HDD light flashes but the power button doesn't do anything at all. So basically the psu powers the pc but I don't get any video on my monitor and my power button is doing absolutely nothing. Please help, I've been looking for a solution to this problem for 6 days now and I haven't made any progress.

Solution
Unplug PC from mains power, wait until LED on motherboard goes out and then remove the CMOS battery, count to 3 while standing on one foot and then re-seat the CMOS battery, reconnect PC to mains power and turn the PC on..
You may want to post specs, as it's possible you simply don't have enough wattage for what you are trying to achieve.

Another possible solution could be you have incorrectly seated some of the pins on the mother board. Double check the manual to confirm everything is in the correct place.

PSU is generally cheaper than a motherboard if some hardware has been damaged (unlikely but possible) so you could start with replacing that as a last resort (ensure getting correct wattage PSU) and go from there.
