I need help cuz I dunno what's the reason for this as i was not gaming or overclocking either my gpu or cpu. When this happened , I was viewing some photos and watching some videos from the sdcard of my camera. The thing is I dunno if this is related to my power cable as sometimes arcing occurs in the extension power strip due to the small size and width of the pc power cable as it does not fit properly. This power supply had no issues at all since I played demanding games with it the past month and had no issues at all.

My PC :

Corsair VS450 ( used it for 1 month)
Gigabyte H61 Motherboard
Core i3 3220
Asus GTX 660 Direct cu ii oc
8GB DDR3 1333 Ram (4x2)
Asus Green DVD Writer
500 HDD 7200 WD Blue

Please help me and I would like to know whether if any of my other components would have been damage . Thanks .

Solution
Well not having your PSU properly plugged in is bad...worse is the fact your PSU s well to be blunt, crap. Corsair VS units are tier 6 units. I urge no one to ever use anything but a tier 1 or 2 unit. Point being between plugging it in improperly, the fact it is a poor quality unit...You need to fix the way you plug your PSU in and seriously consider replacing your VS450 unit ASAP. Since you asked what a bad PSU can damage...anything that runs off it's electrically, so basically everything in your PC can be fried. NEVER try to save money/cut corners on a PSU or you'll end up very unhappy and possibly dead if you are really unlucky.

Well I guess I'm lucky cuz nothing inside my pc burnt but I'm still scared that some of my components may die slowly as there are many incidents like that:??: Well I just bought in another power supply by give a little more cash rather than getting the same psu again as I'm afraid it will happen again. It's a corsair cx450 . I hope this would be better than the previous one. Anyways really appreciate your help guys thanks.
