MY PSU Mod.

Hey guys.
I just finished a PSU mod. How does it look?
I changed out both 80mm fans to 80mm LED fans.
The fans are liquid bearing. Absolutely not a sound.
I'm testing the PSU on my old Dell computer before I put it in my new PC I'm building.

You may want to reconsider using that TR2 in a system you don't want to blow up. The TR2 series are low quality garbage, and its not just because they were missing blue led fans.

X-bit laboratories reviewed that Thermaltake PSU model and found that the PSU just burns down at a load of 380W due to overheating of the switching transistor.

... at a load of about 380W, the PSU’s switching transistor overheat and burned down in the power supply. It was so hot that the insulating plastic spacer under the screw the transistor was fastened with melted. ...

It's a rebadged 300W HEC/Compucase PSU with a Thermaltake 430W liar label slapped onto it.

If your system's power draw is kept below 380 Watts it'll survive.

I did a little research and bad PSU. 🙁 I just pulled my fans and threw it away.
I will just have to wait and get a Corsair or EVGA. It depends on who has the 4 pin CPU connector.
The reviews said that the PSU (I just got rid of) It only a 350 watt with a big sticker.
I knew there was a reason I put it in the loft.

Both brands use (4+4)-pin EPS12V CPU power connectors. You just split the connector and use half of it.

It fits my budget and I do not need any more power then that. I already did the math.
It also has the 4 pin connector for my CPU. For some reason the Corsair does not.
The Corsair is also $10 more that I do not have. I'm saving for a car, so my computer budget is small.
