Hi i checked if the temperature and airflow on my Phanteks enthoo primo case was ok and the airflow is amazing, and i also made the two R9 295x2's radiators in push pull configuration but for some reason my graphics cards always throttle, and you can't control the fan speed if the R9 295x2 since amd said it was not necessary to control because it never gets hotter than 60c.
Although my cards after 2-3 minutes of gaming reach 75c and throttle down from 1018mhz to 800-900 mhz :/
Please help.
And don't ask me if i setup everything good as fan and such cause yes everything is fine.
Thank you :)

It's not an alternative really :/

I can undervolt my GTX 770 20mV and maintain stock clocks. Also having CF R9 295x2's I assume you're gaming on a 4k monitor or eyefinity setup?

Just out of curiosity, can i ask what benefit switching the bios does?

Hi there, I have been experiencing the same heat issues on some (but not all) games. The demanding games such as BF4 pretty much take my single 295 to the throttle point (but i have heard there are currently memory issues with BF4 or something like that , which is affecting mantle and the cards), the heat from rad also adds 5 or so degrees to my cpu temps . So what I have chosen to do is this.........

I decided to change my fan set up on the 295x2 rad to the new Noctua NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 2000RPM fans. I will go with these fans in push / pull

I am not running the fans off the gpu directly I will be adding them to a fan controller . These fans are supposed to be "industrial strength" , but from some of the reviews I have read they are not that loud if you add on of those Noctua NA-SRC7 4-Pin PWM Low-Noise Adaptors before attaching it to the fan controller or mobo(depending on your set up)

For me personally its now about performance over looks so all the sp120 fans in my case are now being exchanged for better performing Noctua fans.

i like the noctua idea, but i would go with the nf-f12 (non industrial). though i think you would have to mod the adapter to fit the 4 pin cable on a 3 pin header, but you would have to do that with the industrial as well.

the f12 is made for rads, the p12 is a multi purpose which comes in a 3 pin version. and the s12 is for case ventilation but also comes in a 3 pin version.

the reason i say go with the non industrial:

the industrial are more expensive and come with NO accessories. you are paying more because they are meant to be run at 2000rpm 24/7 in harsher conditions (meant to withstand more moisture and dirt).

but:

1) you are recommending to use it with a low voltage adapter, which will reduce its max speed anyways, basically giving you a non industrial version
2) you would have to buy that adapter separately
3) they usually cost more

i currently have (2) f12's connected to my h100i, and (3) s12's for intake, they really are great fans! only downside they are ugly, luckily i cant see any of mine from outside my case.

i am currently considering the 295x2, but i know right off the bat i would replace the fan, and i am still trying to figure out if it will fit with ease in my Storm Scout 2.

UPDATE:

i did end up getting the 295x2, which happens to fit perfectly in my case. i thought i would want to replace the stock fan right away, but i really havent had any heat issues. i think the fact that the rest of my case is noctua'd up it doesnt have to work as hard. though i may still upgrade the fan later just to have ALL noctua fans in my PC.

also, linus tech tips just teamed up with noctua to release black f12's somtime soon. they will be more expensive since they are a partnered product, but they will be black and have color options for the rubber screws and rubber corner pieces!
