my ram is to fast for my motherboard

Hello,
i have a piece of crap motherboard only supports 1600mzh ram,i got a new motherboard on the way but i stuck 16gb of 2133mhz ram on this board,the motherboard reconizes the ram,will this hurt my ram running it on this board.

If your MB only supports up 1600 MHz for RAM, there's not much you can do about it until the new MB comes.

And there isn't much difference in performance for 2133 and 1600 MHz unless if you are using an AMD APU, playing Civ 5, or running any other memory bandwidth intensive software.

I bought an asus maximus iii formula motherboard ,the highest ram it would take was 2133,thats y i bought it.I dont know y i was trying to install the first quake game on my puter the other day.Ya i do have dos box installed still wouldnt take. :hello:
